SALVATORE PIAZZA was born in a family of musicians in 1965 in Palermo. At the age of six he began to learn playing the trumpet with his father, who was a director of „Trabia” music band. He studied composition and instrumentation for bands and in 1984 graduated as a trumpet player with honors from the Conservatory V. Bellini of Palermo. Since 1990 he has been the principal trumpet of the Teatro Massimo Foundation Orchestra of Palermo. He has recorded several albums with the orchestra for record labels Chandos, Sony, Arte Nova Classics and Wicky Music. He also collaborates with Wicky Music when publishing his own compositions and arrangements. He carries out intense artistic activity as a principal trumpet, soloist and director.

Salvatore Piazza works as a trumpet professor of Conservatory V. Bellini of Palermo, where he is a director of the Sicilian Brass Philharmonic. He also teaches on many summer brass masterclasses in Italy.
