TAMIR AKTA was born in 1973. He started learning to play the trumpet at the age of 8. He is a graduate of the Telma Yelin High School of the Arts. In the 1987-1995 period he was a recipient of the America Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship. In 1991 Tamir won the Interlaken Classics Competition in USA. He was also a principal trumpet and a soloist with the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1988-1989 he completed his academic training at the Paris Conservatory, in the trumpet class of the master Guy Touvron.

His extended stay in Paris included many concert performances and competition prizes such as the Selmer Trumpet Competition, the Young Soloist Trumpet Competition, concerts and many chamber music festivals all over Europe. He also gave official performances on behalf of the Israeli Embassy in Paris and Israeli consulates around Europe. Since his return to Israel, he has performed extensively as a soloist, in chamber music concerts, orchestras and festivals all over the world.

Musical education is close to his heart. He views it as a calling and an obligation to train the next generation of musicians in Israel. In addition to his performance schedule and composition projects, Tamir teaches trumpet and supervises at the Raanana Music Center. He is also a respected lecturer and trumpet teacher at many masterclasses in Europe. Tamir Akta is a founder and co-owner of Galileodolce and the MyMaster application.
