PEPPE MAISTO was born in 1966, in Venafro, Molise Region, Italy. He graduated from the Salerno Conservatory in the class of Maestro Enzo Stellato and for the next three years attended a jazz course at the Testeccio Music School in Rome. In the 1989-1992 period he was a solo trumpet in the „Free Time Band”. He is also a respected composer and has composed over 200 pieces since 1990. He has been owner of the Jam Session Music School in Venafro for over 30 years, where he also teaches trumpet. Apart from principally playing the trumpet, he also plays the drums, piano and traditional instruments. Furthermore, he is the author of five books regarding trumpet playing: Metodo Maisto Vol. 1, Vol. 2 (Advanced technique for trumpet Vol. 1, Vol. 2), L’ABC Della Tromba (ABC: Studies and easy tracks for beginners), La Tromba nel Jazz (For those who want to approach and discover the language of jazz), Ensemble di Tromba (Studies and pieces duets, trios and trumpet quartets).
